The coach is the key component to fulfilling the mission of Upward Sports™: “To introduce children to Jesus Christ by creating opportunities to serve through sports.” The delivery of this mission is in the hands of the coach.
As an Upward Flag Football Coach, you have a tremendous opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of your players and their families. For this reason, it is important that you understand your responsibilities as a coach.
Each year Trinity Evangelical’s Upward Sports™ leagues need more coaches to handle the increasing size of the league. The time commitment each week is about 2 1/2 hours.

Do you see things as black and white and always play by the rules?
You might just have what it takes to be a referee in the Upward Sports™ leagues.
Upward Sports™ referees are the highest authority figures on the court/field. They lead by example. The best referees are the ones who are committed to providing the best sports experience for every child, not the ones you pay to do the job. Officials need to enforce the rules of the game, communicate effectively with coaches, and provide encouragement to the players.
Referees act as an extension of the coach as they teach and encourage players while officiating. The biggest differences between Upward Sports™ and other leagues are the actions and attitudes of the officials.
Two to three referees are need during each game. Games are played on Saturdays and the number of games depends each year on the size of the league. The time commitment is 1 hour per game.
